Lone Rock Farms is a family-owned and operated farm rooted in tradition, hard work, and a passion for agriculture.
Officially established in 2018 by Leland Rockstead, the farm reflects a lifelong dedication to farming that began long before its founding. What started as a small operation planting peppers and vegetables has grown into a thriving farm producing a wide variety of crops each season.
Today, Lone Rock Farms specializes in spring plant sales, offering flowers, perennials, and vegetable plants, along with a diverse range of specialty crops such as peppers, tomatoes, carrots, and potatoes.
Everything is grown with care and follows best practices suited for Minnesota’s unique growing conditions. Lone Rock Farms is also a proud member of the Sustainable Farming Association, reflecting the farm’s commitment to responsible growing practices, environmental stewardship, and the future of sustainable agriculture.
The farm has continued to expand over the years, including the acquisition of additional land and the development of greenhouse operations. With hoop houses used for both spring plant starts and summer crop production, Lone Rock Farms is able to extend its growing season and provide high-quality plants and produce to the community. The farm also maintains beehives, supporting pollination and contributing to a healthy and sustainable ecosystem.

Leland works alongside his daughter, Everly, who enjoys helping with planting, harvesting, and selling products. The farm’s success is also supported by a close-knit group of friends and family who contribute to everything from seed starting and transplanting to sales and daily operations.
Beyond farming, Lone Rock Farms is deeply connected to the local community. The farm supports local schools, participates in agricultural programs, and contributes produce for community events. Leland is actively involved in organizations such as the Beltrami County Ag Association, the Sustainable Farming Association, and the University of Minnesota Extension Master Gardener program, reflecting a strong commitment to education, sustainability, and community growth.
